  1. Congratulations, Amanda! And greetings from one social work fiction writer to another…good to follow you on Facebook!

    • Amanda says:

Thank you Dorothy! I have enjoyed reading about your successes with fiction as well. Of course, I have used your non-fiction works many times through the years. Great to be in touch!

  2. Good to hear from you! Might you be interested, at some point, in being part of a panel presentation about the power of story as a tool for social change? I considered submitting a proposal for the NASW conference next summer in DC but missed the deadline. Maybe another opportunity in the future? Susan Kraus is another social worker fiction writer so with you, me and her we’d have a panel.

Hi Dorothy, Yes! I’d love to be part of a your panel on stories for social change. I’m also interested in the use of fiction in social work education. I teach a class called “Healing Narratives” in our MSW program and have been using a few pieces of fiction to good (I like to think) effect. Count me in!
